Reading The Blade article about people campaigning for public office and the amount of pay, we can look and see what the hours are.
Well, what I mean to say is that if you do not attend meetings that you are either a committee head of member, never fear your lack of attendance will be noted and waived.
"MR. CRAIG moved to excuse Councilman Ashford,
for non-attendance at the Economic Development
Committee of May 16, 2007; Councilwoman Grachek,
for non-attendance at the Economic Development
Committee of May 16, 2007; Council President
Ludeman, for non-attendance at the City Council
meeting of May 15, 2007, the Economic Development
Committee of May 16, 2007, the Zoning & Planning
Committee of May 16, 2007 and the Finance &
Budget Committee of May 17, 2007; and Councilman
Sarantou, for non-attendance at the Environment,
Utilities & Public Service Committee of May 23, 2007;
carried; v.v.
PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL LUDEMAN moved to
adjourn until Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at 4:00 P.M.;
carried, v.v."
All this and health benefits, retirement, and so on and heck get your lack of attendance waived too, it is a bonanza!
