Citizen committees and panels of citizens offering ideas, seem to be the current panache in Toledo. Kinda gives ya the warm and fuzzies, until you ask yourself, why did we elect office holders to office, if not to lead us and do what they are elected to do."

"Toledo may soon have a citizen-led committee to rewrite the now-contested law. Two options are being discussed: setting up an entirely new committee or forming a subcommittee of the county's existing Dog Warden Advisory Committee.

City council is scheduled to vote Tuesday on the former option, the establishment of a Toledo Dog Policy Advisory Task Force."

Hooray! More studies of studies and committees with committees and sub committees!

Say, didn't our  Council members just recently state, that there are too many committees and too many meetings?

And yet, here we have more committees. Okay,  I'll bite,  who's on first?

A judge tossed out the local ordinance despite the lawyers on council who helped draft the legislation and now there are more attempts to regulate dogs in the city.

But,  never fear, there is a committee for that. Kinda makes ya wonder, what the attendance will be.

And then we have a citizen committee to think tank ideas to clean up the budget mess that the leadership has gotten us into.

Never say, that Toledo does not recycle, cause we do! The same ideas, over and over and over again. Sell city owned property. Well ya, but who's buying, the small and large parcels?

There does not seem to a cohesive thought process, well except for business as usual, to get us out of the whole we are in.

Citizen committees and citizen input is great, but the leaders need to lead and they know the numbers, the process involved and ultimately it rests with the office holders to guide us out.

Now, how about a committee to study the elected office holders? Oh wait, that's on election day.
