The city spent $1,150 to move a grandfather clock
How about Council gets serious and looks at the unpaid, uncollected,
fees, fines and penalties accessed against the many land owners that
fail to maintain properties and houses to the housing standards.
Do, you, have any idea how many dollars are owed to the city and how
many dollars, probably into the millions that are not recouped by the
city?
Here's one;

The city spent thousands to board the property up.
"On Nov. 12, a follow-up hearing took place to give an update on the
progress at the building. Judge C. Allen McConnell ruled the city’s
progress in securing the warehouse was unacceptable and the city had 13
days to board up the location.
The city had to special order the raw materials to board up the
building, costing about $4,000, Mossing said."
And;
"“In the long run, everyone would like to just demolish the thing,”
Mossing said.
The city received a quote for demolition that was $384,000."
So in the long run, while the comments about the clock help to stroke
the resentment and misguided thinking, they do little to address the
real concerns that we as citizens have with the failed results we see
from Council and Administrations are not much of a concern than a clock
being moved.
The city is in perpetual chaos, because leaders fiddle and diddle while
the city crumbles and when asked what shall the leaders do? The answer?
