The Blade reporting of the dollars coming into city coffers is great news and yet, it raises questions.

"“It has to be within targeted neighborhoods that we’ve designated as areas of greatest need,” Mr. Badik said."

Greatest need? Determined how?

Homes foreclosed and sitting vacant? The North End is littered with them, any help for the North End area? Nope, appears not.

"The idea is that neighborhoods outside the distressed central city can be saved by keeping foreclosed homes from succumbing to vandals and fire."

Oh, got it, now.

Save what has not crumbled and decayed before it does.

Well, that's great, but what about the rest of decaying, boarded with plywood, littered with vacant commercial properties falling into disrepair, lots too small to build on and which are used as garbage dumping grounds.
