The legacy that keeps on dragging us down, ghosts of Mayor's past

"Mr. Wagner said he is suspicious of the proposed 2010 budget offered by Mr. Finkbeiner before leaving office."
It seems pretty safe to say, that our previous administration would have been good at a game of darts, as they keep throwing darts to make a point, and then the overly glowing apprasials missed the target.
What is also safe to say, is that any public service member who drives the same streets as the rest of us, will only be too aware that there are large gapping holes in the city.
Many have fought and no doubt will wrap themselves in a banner of pride, but the reality is that there are businesses that have closed, residents have lost homes and jobs, there are many thousands of vacant unproductive houses in the city, many of which are boarded up and waiting for demolition, leaving us with vacant unproductive spaces.
It is plausble to distrust the previous numbers and methods used, but that was then and this is now and the present is down, way down, and while all the glad handing about this or that, the reality on the streets, where we live, is not looking too good.
But then at the same time, people do not want cuts, no, more public service, when the cost of the public service is the largest slice of the budget pie.
Anyway you cut it, there are tough choices to be made, now can the leadership, all leadership, make them?
