Here's the chance to help a neighbor, an acquataince or just someone in need.

"Once-a-week, 96-year-old Betty Costello used to walk out to her vehicle, put a small plastic bag full of trash in the truck, and drive it down to the curb.

That's how the longtime West Toledo resident took out the garbage every week.

But that weekly routine ended when Mrs. Costello suffered a broken hip and her neighbor started taking the trash out to the curb."

"Residents can call the city at 419-936-2511 with questions or to express a need for such a program.

Toledoans also can find out what month their carts will be delivered by visiting the city's Web site at toledo.oh.gov."

If you know of a person in need, please have them call or call for them.

It's not enough to grumble with each other, pick up the phone and call, operators are standing by!
